Occupation Births, Marriages, and Deaths indexed

Local researchers make a great contribution to the Priaulx Library’s holdings and to local studies.

Arthur Le Page with the index of the Births, Marriages and Deaths in Guernsey during the Occupation period. Arthur has just revamped the folder - it is so well used it was worn out! We and everyone who has benefited from these Occupation civil register indexes owe Arthur a great debt - he indexed all this material himself over a number of years, and analysed it too. He is currently improving the indexes by adding new material, with a view to making them digitally searchable in the Library as part of our new project, the digital Priaulx.
