New prints

Unique to the Library—prints of the Guernsey militia throught the ages!

We are very excited about these new and really exquisite prints from Percy Groves' watercolours of the Guernsey militia through the ages —this is the first time that they have been made available to the public. Anyone who knows the Guernsey Post's set of stamps featuring the militia will be familiar with them—the stamps were based on these book illustrations, painted by former Librarian Percy Groves to complement his book on the Guernsey Milita, but never published. Although the first set of three are available to buy immediately, unframed, any print from the bound volume may be ordered, though the delivery of these will be subject to time constraints; please discuss this with a Librarian.
